There is someone here that taped the bottom of their tank for the LP relocation.

You better know what you are doing. Those tanks are not cheap, and typically not easy/legal to repair.

I don't know anything about the legality of modifying fuel tanks. That's the disclaimer to cover my $$$ :D

I would use a bulkhead fitting on the side of the fuel tank and a bent tube on the inside of the tank. Then you could mount your drain valve level with the bottom of the tank, gravity will force out whatever is at the low point of your drain point.

I like this idea, I may have to add this to my Ram.

I was thinking about installing a drain but after search though the old reliable Grainger, McMaster-Carr, MSC Direct and other online catalogs didn't turn up any suitable, affordable, metal bulkhead fittings... just incompatable with diesel plastic, expensive stainless steel, BSPP threaded, and other not-quite-right fittings I gave up.

I'm sure a bulkhead fitting compatable with diesel is out there but I sure don't know where it is. Stainless was the closest I came, $112 for a 1/2'' fitting, even then the gaskets were listed as not compatable with diesel...

What about a drain plug for transmission fluid? Would the gaskets hold up to Diesel, does anyone know? What gasket material would withstand diesel? What about RTV Gasket material? the type used for the gear housing cover or just using a transmission plug with out the gaskets, the fuel tank is a form of plastic is it not?, if you could tighten the the plug and get good compression of the tank material it probably would not leak? Any more ideas?
