i have a '96 standard cab 4X4 that I need to replace the fuel tank on... Any one have any good/bad experiences with transfer flow, or any other aftermarket manufacturers? I don't really need the extra capacity but I figured if I had to buy a new tank, and the price difference wasn't that much... why not.

I broke my transmission mount so the transmission kicked over and let the balance ring on my driveshaft wear into the fuel tank :(

Also I thought I remembered a seeing a link on here for mopar parts for less, or diesel parts for less, or something like that... but when I searched for it I couldn't find it. Can some one help me out there? Thanks in advance!

If I were going to replace my stock tank (for any reason) I would definitely go with a larger tank size. I put a 95 gallon tank in the bed of my truck and I love it. You wouldn't believe how much time you save by not pumping gas all of the time!!!! Aerotanks were the type I investigated for a replacement of the stock tank before I chose to add an auxillary tank. www.aerotanks.com

B. Wilson,

Thanks for the input, I'd thought about just putting a combo tool box/fuel tank in the bed and eliminating my reg tank... not sure I want to permanently commit that much bed space though.

Thanks! That was the link I was looking for.

It doesn't look like aero or transfer flow make a midship tank for standard cabs; only extended, and quad... am I reading this right?

Thanks again!

This is the link for the replacement tank, http://www.aerotanks.com/dodge.html , you would want the D-50 tank. It goes in place of your stock tank but holds 50 gallons and you can still have your spare tire. Also, I wouldn't go for only the auxillary tank, but it's a great addition (Ithink). It's no different than having a short bed I guess.

Thanks again Wilson,

Not sure how I missed that one when I flipped down there web page... closest one I saw to fit the first time was the D-60. I still haul an occasional small load of hay that really doesn't call for hooking up the trailer... so I'd be a lot more comfortable with a direct replacement like this as opposed to an aux tank. Thanks again for the info!
