So I fired up my truck this evening for the first time today. As I was allowing it to warm up I stood at the back of the bed and begin smelling the all too familiar scent of electrical fire. When I looked I could see flames coming from the area of the pre-filter. After getting the hose out and doing some investigation I determined the temperature sensor to be the source. Anyone have this issue? I have a stock fuel delivery/filter system now. Any suggestions for an Upgrade that deletes the prefilter/heater/sensor?

Does this from the forum seem relevant to your issue with the fuel heater? https://www.turbodieselregister.com...-what-have-people-done-to-correct-that.26504/

No need to eliminate the pre-filter. Remove it, then using an allen wrench remove the heater element. Throw it and it's harness into the trash. The pre-filter will screw into the cavity left by the heater element. It's a 5 minute job.
