Got a question, the pump should run a few seconds when you first turn on key? Mine runs sometimes and sometimes it don't. Seems like when temps are 10's and lower pump don't run or runs real slow. When you cycle key to off and on pump should reset and run, right? Truck has 30,000 miles. I should check pressure but too lazy. I went to get new one at dealer they won't sell any said they are on restrition. They won't sell one unless they test pump first. Can you get pump from Cummins? Thanks.

Bump the starter but do not start truck and the pump should run for approx. 20-25 seconds.

Before I replaced the pump I would have it checked.

Buy from cummins they are about $200. 00 dollars cheaper than Mopar.

part # for pump 3990105

wire harness # 4025182

Banjo seals #3935171

You probably willo not need the seals, but it doesn't hurt to have a couple around just in case.

Total for everything should be around $150. 00 from cummins verses $400. 00 from chrysler.

Based on the age of your truck it should be covered under the 100K waranty. Just look at the threads that describe what the problem feels like for a truck with a bad lift pump and set up an appt. with the dealer describing the problem. They will then check your pump and replace under warranty. Hope this helps. Let us know how it goes.
