I took a little 2 hr drive to north Jersy on Tuesday. As I pulled into the parking lot of my destination I was overcome with the smell of diesel fuel. Shut down and jumped out to see what was going on. Fuel was pouring from the back of the motor all over this guys parking lot. Anyway I was stuck and at the time could not find the problem. It turned out the water drain valve from the bottom of the fuel filter was gone! and the fuel in the filter came pouring out. By the way what can I use to clean this guys driveway?

I would guess if it worked loose and fell out, it should be under there hanging by it's wires someplace.

On my '95s with the same filter the WIF valve won't come out without first disconnecting the the wires. The short wires wrap around the valve and drain tube preventing enough revolutions for it coming all the way out. I tried. Sounds like someone messed up.

It seems the water sensor is still there, just the drain valve part is missing. Thats about a 3/8" hole in the bottom of the fuel filter. It did not take very long for the filter contents to drain out either. I was lucky that it happened where it did.
