My father in law has a 37ft Travel Supreme motorhome with a 270hp Cummins, and a 5spd Allison. I tried an Edge EZ in it and it made the trans constantly shift, finally making the trans temp light come on, and putting it into 'limp mode'. He said turned it into a rocket, and now he has the bombing bug. I spoke with Erin at Edge, and he said that is a common problem with their boxes when used with the Allison setup. Anyone know of another quality device that would work with this set-up? It is a 2001 motorhome, but I believe the engine is a '99, because I had to get the adapter that plugs directly on top of the fuel pump.

Thanks!!

PS, Edge had no problem giving a full refund for the EZ!!!

You might try giving Diesel Dynamics a call. I believe that I have seen motorhome upgrades on their website. They may be able to help or steer you in the right direction.

All of the motorhomes get the early style MAP sensor connector. The Allison 5-speed is your big problem there. Any more than about 15hp and it will go into limp mode, as you have noticed. We don't offer anything (nor would it be cost effective) that has that little of a gain.

However, if you had a True Torque Module instead of the Edge EZ, you could use the timing only mode. That's about 7-8hp on a pickup truck, but better mileage.
