In the process of loosening nut to turn in full fuel screw the collar came loose. As it seems some have had problems removing the collar I am led to believe It was removed before I bought the truck. There is a hole through the screw shaft out close to the end. Is there supposed to be a pin through this hole to serve as a stop against the collar. I do not want to turn screw in past the collar as I am gettin a goodly portion of black smoke now. I guess what I am asking is where the stopping point would be if the collar was intact.

Thanks: Bob F.

Bob, your power screw is normal. There is nothing on these other than the lock collar. (spot tacked ring/collar) Only thing stopping the screw from bottoming out or possible runaway, when taken off.

Agreed..... my screw has a little hole plus a slot in it for a screwdriver sort of thing...

Mark your screw depth/position and avoid any problems with runaway... it not that uncommon to have it happen as you may think. .

I still have my lock collar on... I'll try to measure the approx. distance from the screw end to the back of the locknut and let you know in here... gimme a day or so. .

Thanks Mark & Bob for the reply. That measurement would be helpful Bush as I dont have any reference point to work from.

Hey Bob,

Here's what I measured for your starting point. .

Remember each pump/fuel screw is different but...

From the end of the fuel screw to the back of the lock nut (the side facing the lock collar), I am approx. 11/16"

At this setting there is still about 1/2 - 3/4 of a turn to go before the locknut hits up against the lock collar itself, so you should be safe with this measurement as a starting point. Even so, that is still turned up a bit for my winter settings.

Hope that helps a bit...

Bob.

Thanks Bob:

That will help a lot. I'm thinking I have it turned in a little too much but its raining out now so will wait for better weather to back it out.
