Running the heater alot engine fumes exaust seem a little strong in the cab, not bad but is this normal or just worse in cold weather. any ideas other than a air freshener.

I'm guessing you have the problem more in town, like I do... especially when leaving a stop light. I've been told that it's due to the cardboard I have blocking the radiator, the fumes from the crankcase vent come up and enter the HVAC at the cowl. I was told to lengthen the vent line to get it behind the plane of the firewall.

Anyone ever tie it into the exhaust? We do this on our racecars, and it pulls a vacuum on the crankcase.

Heater core checked out ok, that idea about the cowel seal sounds like it could be it, I do have the lund winter grill in now maybe that and it does seem worse around town. checkin that seal today first then the crankcase vent. wonder if that cowel filter works? anybody try one yet, THANKS :D
