I always enjoy reading other people's stop light encounters, so I thought I would share a couple recent ones of mine. First of all, I got into a little race with a Ford v10 the other day. We were both pulling onto a local highway. He was just ahead of me and I was slowly pulling along side of him to pass. When I was right next to him, he floored it (I felt that I had to do the same). We started out at about 35mph and went up to about 70. I don't think either truck gained an inch. We stayed neck and neck the whole time. His was an F350 crewcab longbed SRW. I don't know if it was the 275hp or 320hp truck. I had read a long discussion in the Ford forum where people said that a v10 will easily outrun a stock PSD. We were at 5300ft, so he would have been faster at a lower altitude, but I felt pretty good.

The second story is a bit more humbling. I lined up next to an Excursion with a PSD. He had a 5" exhaust, so I thought it might be interesting. Well, he absolutely cleaned my clock. After about an 1/8 of a mile, he was easily five lengths ahead. He probably didn't even know I was racing. I was hoping to catch up and ask what he was running, be never could get through the traffic. Obviously, it's time for more power.

I rarely get the chance to race, but it's always fun.

I raced two Ford V10's while I was living in Las Vegas. I'm not trying to be cocky but I really expected more of a race:D . My truck is much lighter than theirs so I had the weight advantage, but they couldn't come close. If they would have asked to race again I think I would have told them "well... . I'm going to charge you for my time":D :D . I have also taken several Cameros and Ram air Firebirds by surprise..... man it's great driving a diesel,... pick a fight with a gasser... ..... wait for them to laugh, then blow their doors off:)

I was minding my own bussines the other night on the highway and a twin turbo Supra pulls up next to me and starts eggin me on:rolleyes: So I ignored him and he pulled forward and I got behind him and turned my PE Comp box up and got a little running start and blew by him and then it took him a second and he caught up, then my wife started yelling:eek: " Isn't it against the law to race?" I said we aren't racing were are just sizing each other up. He could of killed me but there was to much traffic. It was fun though. I think the straight pipe makes a lot of noise outside the truck, you can hardly hear it in the truck.

I haven't dyno'd yet, but I recently bought a G-tech and after several runs got an averaged result of 408 HP. The 408 was with an accurate weight and the same amount of fuel in the truck as when it was weighed. I really didn't think I'd ever get over the 400 mark with the little pump, so it will be interesting to get on the dyno and compare numbers.

It's more fun to wait till one of those little rice burners pull up with it's radio blaring in your ear, and then when the light turns green to start off in second gear and let her smoke. I did it just the other day and it was so bad the boy had to pull over to let it clear out of the car so he could see. :D

ooooops, sorry bout that:p

Darrell,

Be careful with those ricers. I have found a few that you DO NOT want to play with. I went out street racing a few weeks ago (in my diesel:D ... who'da thunk it) and found a ricer that was unbelieveably fast. I think his car was mostly running off nitrous (maybe a little gas!!) but man it was fast.

Oh I don't dare try to race one those little cars can fly. I just can't stand it when someone pulls up next to me and I can hear their radio over my strait pipe. The nerve of some poeple don't they know that we have noise ordnances around here. :D

Convertibles are fun too.

What is considered major pump mods, as in your sig,

mine got 371hp with a #6 plate, and you are running a 4 so that is more radical than mine. I also have a stock turbo and have no egt problems.
