Temp Gauge Reading

Anyone who has been folowing this odessy should

know by now that I purchased a 93 Ram 350 with

Cummins Turbo-diesel. Rebuilt the engine myself,

350K on it. I am very pleased with the results and

will fight anyone who argues that the cummins aint

got it. It out does my 5. 9 hands down. Enough of

that.

Currently, I have 1,000 on the rebuild. I think

I have a problem with my guages because my temp

guage reads high ( Twix 3/4 & hot ), my oil

pressuure reads "high". And the speedometer reads

5 to 15 MPH high progressivly.

Charging voltage is high- 16. 4 volts, and fluctuates. Lights flicker. I think I have an

excessive voltage problem. Before I wire i a

regulator (bypassing the ECM) does anyone have

a better idea or has anyone experienced the same

problem? Thanks, and waiting to hear.

My old '91 had a problem similar to yours - only in reverse - my voltage would fluctuate LOWER than normal, causing the guages to fluctuate lower - new voltage regulator for $12 solved it for me...

Good luck.
