Ever since my truck was new I've had a funny miss at idle when I let the clutch out. I sounds like the older mechanical diesels when the got lugged down a bit and the governor would start to "hunt". I don't have a FP gauge, so I don't know if my lift pump has been TU since new or if it's just normal for an electronic engine. Any ideas other than get a FP gauge? I really don't want to take it to the dealer, they have no clue about diesels. Thanks

Is this when you let out real quick? If so it is the computer seeing the drop in RPM, even though it's small, and adding fuel to raise the RPM. My 6 spd does this worse than my friends 5 spd. I think it might be because of the heavier internals of the transmission.

That is what I thought

Except that is does it only when warm, and even if I let it out easy. Every once in a while it almost sounds like it's going to stall. I would expect it if I dumped the clutch at an idle, but not when I go easy. That's why I wondering if everybodys does that, or if I should do some fuel pressure checking. Thanks.

Mine does'nt sound like it's going to stall or anything, just a real quick sound of the pump giving it a shot of fuel. So you may have some kind of problem. But I'm no expert. On mine, if you press the clutch in, and then let it out just a second or two later it really does'nt do it (parts in the transmission are still spinning). But if you hold the clutch in longer, it does it. Just trying to describe how mine does it so you can compare. HTH.
