Hi and welcome Chuck!

Need to give us a little info on your truck. What year, any gauges, any mods, etc.

Could be several things. Turbo pipe connections loose, wastegate noise, etc

Does this happen at all temps or just when it is hot outside? (I'm thinking AC system noise on this item)

Most likely your fan clutch engaging when started, and then releasing when you bring the RPMs up, because of the summertime temps.

it is 03 2500 HO NO MODS JUST TEMP GAUGE FOR TRANSMISSION. Doesn't have to be hot to make this sound just a rush of air. You said it could be from waste gate ? is this normal.

thanks

Chuck

Like nps said, it is your fan. When you first start them cold, they are usually engaged and will "rush the air" as you call it, at higher rpm for a second before releasing the fan clutch.

With him saying a "Backpressure sound" I cannot see fan. Fans make a roar. If the exhaust brake activation switch under the "Gas" pedal is missaligned this is a common problem whereas it will not activate normally but will when the pedal bounces from giving it a stab. I set mine so you have to LIFT it with your toe to activate it.
