Funny Race/Chat with a Banks Guy

As i was cruising to my friends' house this afternoon, i see this regular cab 4x4,12v,dually {97' i came to find out} california EGR special right come up along side me with gauges and pass at a decent rate of speed maybe 35-30 mph. He is about 1 1/2 truck lengths ahead and i take it about half throttle and walk past him in 4th at like 3800 rpms and he looks over all shocked and smiling. So he punches it as i drop back down to his speed and shift to 5th and go 3/4 pedal and leave him in a cloud :-laf . We both pulled into a parking lot and we start to chat,he mentions he has the "45 horse/250ft lb. " Banks Kit on his truck and if he gave it more than 1/4 throttle he could have walked all over my truck {his is a stock auto trans,180 hp BTW,+the banks kit which he over paid for}... i told him i ground down my cam plate to a #100 and put 4k gov springs in for $130 bucks,and had a B-1 turbo,btw he didn't even know what Gov springs were lol. He asked me what i get for fuel mileage, i said about 18-19 highway... he said, "oh yeah, i get 25mpg" So moral of the story. . don't race your 400 horse truck against a Banks powered one, he will spank you with it if he get's it Wide Open :-laf

Ive ran into a few guys with fords/chev/dodge and they cant admit to be the lesser person (truck capabilities) It bothers me because they cant talk like men, they have to one up on you every time and it gets old quick. If you challenge them they come up with a excuse that they are having problems. Granted Ive talked about my above stock truck but bailed on a event due to a bad trans (shudder hard enough to make it downshift) so im slightly guilty but it was a ligit excuse.



oh well they are among us just prove em wrong!!

You NEVER see banks enter any compatitions. No drags, no sled. Not hat I noticed tho. So what, they ran a truck at the salt flats. Big deal. that was it and 3 or 4 years ago now.

Banks is a household name and most people think if you have a quick diesel it must be Banks equipped. Happened to a me and a buddy just yesterday at the track. Lets just say we know a bit more than the average Joe...

I learned this the hard (expensive) way. Only thing left of my Powerless Pack and all it was hyped to be is the exhaust tip from my "Monster Drone" exhaust system. I had no idea TDR existed at the time.

I work in an industry where I travel around alot and everybody has a diesel. Most have Fords or D-maxs. Every time I show up at a different yard, the first thing I hear is, "He must have a chip in that thing". The second thing is, "You got that thing all Banks'd out?" It's funny to see the looks on their faces when I tell them I'd rather have a sister in a wh*re house than a Banks product in my truck.
