Here is a question for some one who is not technically challenged. Why when most pages on the Forums fit my screen perfectly do I find a occasional page that has to be scrolled sideways to view and how to make that not happen.

It would be that someone has a graphic which has a size specified that is larger than the real estate inside your browser's window.

What resolution do you use? I use 1024X768, my browser windows are much smaller than the whole screen, and none of the pages need to scroll to the side.

<font color=blue>Or if someone types in a really long web address it could make that happen too or really any long string of characters. So its not just when big pictures are put on here #ad

All I know is that it is a real PITA to scroll sideways to read a post, especially a long one.

1024 has its applications, but I dont think it is on a bulliten board. I dont even think most word processing programs require it. This is not a graphics oriented site. I dont go to the book store and purchase fine print books, so why would I purcahse a fine print board. When I worked at Intel no one used 1024 except for engineering graphics for overall views, not for design, word processing was not done at 1024 either and still isn't. I'm tickeled pink that you have a computer that you keep in vidio game mode, I don't as I use mine for real work and don't play games on it.

I run mine at 1024x768 on the laptop and my home computer which is a 19" monitor. I love it and can't stand it any other way.

Sure would be nice to have colored text... ...

I didn't mind the wide pages so much when someone
posted a picture. But now that it does it with a long
url,it's getting out of hand. Is there some way to go
back to the way it used to be?

Illflem, it's always been like that. It isn't a UBB problem it's an html problem. Anytime you have one continous line that is wider that your screen you are going to get that sideways scroll bar. AFAIK there's no way to fix it.
