Gale Banks on Modern Diesels

Is it my area, or did diesel just jump $.25/gal overnight?

Furd owners have an amazing ability to overlook clear and obvious facts in order to continue believing what they prefer to believe. It is pretty impressive that after the early Sick. Ohh engine followed by "upgraded and corrected" Sick. Ohh which were both failures and then by the Sick. Four which was also trouble prone they continue to be loyal defenders of the false and inflated horsepower, torque, and fuel mileage claims by Furd.

I guess we should admire Furd marketing for their success in fooling that many people.

All I hear is a bunch of furd cry babies boo hoo my truck was slower poor Sucker should of bought a dodge you wouldn't have that problem :)

The Ford and Chevy both would have out run the Dodge if they would of put it in the mix. Dodge can't keep up with them at the power it is putting out. But so what I would still buy a new Dodge before a Ford or Chev. Dodge is keeping it's power level at what the drivetrain will with stand and be reliable. As for mileage I don't believe any of them. But you have to admit that CHEVY was impressive it really beat that Ford up. But how long will they last at that power level. Besides every D-Max and P-Stroke I have been around over heated on hot days. Oh well off my box

They both may beat the dodge up the hill but I'm sorry I would have to see it to believe it the only thing I would like to see is a ford 6. 7 with a Half a Million miles then Maybe they would have something to brag about as for MPG buddy has a 11 ford and was bragging it was going to get 18 mpg going to Texas and when he got back he tucked his head down and cried and said it only got 10 at the most so I say BS on ford or chevy doing better in that area then Dodge

I could care less how fast I can get up a hill loaded one time. What I care about is getting up a hill loaded EVERY TIME. .

I didn't know drag racing with a loaded truck was a responsible thing for Chevy to be sponsoring. Some young kid with daddys money is gonna kill somebody thinking since he can pull a loaded trailer at 90 mph that he SHOULD pull it at 90 mph!!. .

Hey Chevy, fix your overheating issues, coolant leaks in the rear housing that require the transmission to be pulled to fix, glowplug relays sticking in the ON position and torching the batteries/electrical system, and connecting rods bouncing off the pavement. .

The reason they say a Dodge wasn't used is because it doesn't have the GCWR of the other two. The weights used in the test were too much for its chassis.

Harvey,

It looks like your hated internet weight police got to the editorial board of that magazine. And of course the Furd and Bowtie people believe that nonsense.

My impression after formerly subscribing to automotive and RVing magazines for many, many years (don't subscribe any longer) is they are worthless. Their managing editors are prostitutes, selling praise articles to the largest advertising buyer, and ensuring their writers weasel-word the obvious flaws of tested vehicles. Their writers, with the known exception of Greg Whale who writes for TDR, are like political journalists, simply airheads. Their opinions are of no interest or value to me. Their writing skills are often very impressive. Their knowledge and understanding of trucks, cars, and RVs is usually not.

Who cares how much power and torque furd and chevy have. Are they as reliable as Dodge?

My Dodge will do everything I ask it to do with the greatest of ease and that makes me a happy camper.

So far Ford's own built 6. 7 is faring a lot better than those Navistar bombs. . . time will tell how well it does in the long run.
