Futura Dakota tires

I was buying some oil filters ( wifes car) at Pep Boys and saw an All-Terrain tire called the Futura Dakota that looked very similar to BFG AT tires. I checked the price for 285/75/16's and they were only 89. 99 per tire. Has anyone tried these tires? They have a 50K mile warranty also. I was told they were made by Cooper Tire Co. I'm considering trying a set to see how they are unless someone knows something I don't.

I had a set of Futuras a few years ago. Though they were not the Dakotas they were excellent tires. I seem to have better luck with off brand tires ruther than the more expensive name brand.

This is the only thread I could find about these tires. I was thinking about trying some after a friend put them on his F250, but it doesn't appear they have a 17" available for a 3rd gen. Ramifid, did you get these tires? Did you like them?

I bought a set. (245E75R15) Load range "e". I think I paid $71. 50 each for them. They have been a good set of tires for the price. The treads are similar to the BFG which is what initially attracted me to them. After comparing them side to side, the tread depth of the Futura isn't quite as deep and the edges of the tire is kinda rounded more so than the BFG. If I had the money, I would have certianly went with the BFG.

I had a set of Futura tires on my '89 Ramcharger and I got 50k out of those buggers !
