First, let me publicly thank Lane Anthony (LAnthony) of Cummins Northwest for getting me this information. I had been searching dilligently through the TDR threads for the Cummins, not Dodge part number for a MAP sensor for my engine (2001 ETH). I had tried the parts folks at my local Cummins shop, but they just couldn't determine exactly which sensor I was after. I found the Dodge part number in a thread which was posted by BigSaint, but of course Cummins wasn't able to cross reference it.

Among the threads I read, was a thread where someone was thinking of copyiong and selling to fellow TDR members a CD or set of CDs that have Cummins parts and other data. Well, after several replies as to the legality etc. . of such an idea, Lane responded several times and since the basic idea for selling the CDs was to enable interested TDR members to be able to do their own parts lookups instead of calling someone else (Dodge, Cummins,... ) and hoping they could find the data, Lane offered to help any TDR member with looking up parts data.

Well, since I couldn't seem to find the MAP sensor part number for my engine, and Cummins West couldn't find it either, I put Lane to the challenge. I emailed him and within an hour he was calling me. He made several calls within Cummins and within 2 hours he had the number I need.

Cummins part number for 2001 ETH MAP sensor - 3417030.

One of the reasons it was so difficult to track down, in the Cummins reference manuals Lane found it listed as a "Pressure Sensor". That's mighty descriptive now, ain't it??

Oh, the cost was just under $70 from Cummins.

So, Lane has met the challenge and lived up to his promise. He is certainly one  dude in my book :D

Thanks again Lane,

Tom
