i have been trying to figure out what would clean the plastic inner fenders for a while now and i found somthing. meguiers hot wheels wheel cleaner. (not sure on spelling there dont have the bottle in front of me). i sprayed the fenders with the hose, then wheel cleaner let it sit for a min or two then wiped down with a sponge and BAM clean inner fenders. it works awsome!! Oo.

just thought i would share my findings

You mean you actually have a CLEAN truck ??? Please take a pic, i would like to see YOUR truck CLEAN..... LOL

Thanks for the info

It was clean a couple weekends ago and looked good!!!

Does anyone have a problem with the inner fenders being brittle? I was at work and went to get the toolbelt from the toolbox and noticed a 3" crack in my inner fender well... . Looks like a stone from somewhere did it good, so I checked the other side and to my surprize I have a 2"x2" (not square) hole in the top. The local ram roundup wants $50 PER side!!!! that 50 could be divied up to window tint and fuel!!!

Hey Toolman. .

I guess he has never seen the inside of my plastic fenderwells has he when says clean. :D :D

Drew. .

Beware of using those wheel cleaners for this job. One day you'll do it and see how it ruins the liner and wish you didn't do it that way. Even with the cleaner marked "safe for clear coated or plastic wheel covers" it may not be. I have seen just as much damage done by "safe" cleaners as the ones with acid in them for cleaning. The best way to clean them and the safest so no damage come to them or your paint or liner,if you happen to splash it around,is a good citrus based dish soap. After your done washing your truck dump the bucket and refill it with warm water and dish soap. Use a brush and then rinse it thoroughly and it will look as good as new. The dish soap is strong enough to remove most any grime and yet not harm your plastic... ... ... . Andy

On my 98' I hosed them off and just keep painting them black with high gloss.

My 02' dont have inner fenders YET !!!!

DONT USE TIRE WET ... . EEEEEAAAAAAKKKKKKKK it gets sticky and everything will crud up on em'

DM

that tire foam keeps that plastic nice and slippery, the mud and dirt washes off easy. I have only done it once about a year ago and they still look great after a washing.

I know what you are saying about tire wet, it dries almost hard! I did my tires once and then got them dirty, it took like a month to get them clean again.

I have to spray my inner fenders wiht tire cleaner everytime I wash. The mud at my house has a nasty film that wont come off with the pressure washer, so I have to use the tire cleaner.
