The standard tire for the 3500 DRW that I ordered is the Goodyear Wrangler GS-A LT235/80R17E BSW All-Season. You can take a look at it here: Goodyear Wrangler GS-A

Max Load : 3,085 lbs. each. That means 12,340 lbs. with DRW and 6170 lbs. up front.

This assumes that Goodyear is the provider and not Michilin.

Thought this might be of interest to someone.

I just saw a 3500 RC 4x4 DRW at the dealership today. I did not like the first 2500 HD's that I saw but they are starting to grow on me and the DRW one was real good looking. I got to quit driving by that place :)

Incorrect - tires are de-rated when used in a dual setting. The 3085 only applies for the front axle. Out back on the DRW, those tires are rated at approximately 2825 pounds at 80 psi.

You know KC, now that you mention it, I seem to remember that from someplace myself. Do you, or anyone else, happen to know why? or where to find out why?

Does this make the tires the weak link in the GVWR?

JD

JD, the tires definitely are not the weak link. The front axle is 5200, and the rear axle is around 9000. The tires are definite overkill.
