I had the g-30 recall done about 2 months ago after my light came one. The dealer told me when I picked it up that to help from having the o2 sensor from getting sooted up to run the jake all the time. Has anyone else heard of that and how would that help? It apparently is crap because while getting off the highway the other month the light came back on. I ran it for a week and the light went off. The truck goes in for warrenty work next week so I hope the do all the new flashes and such then

Was recommended to run exhaust brake all the time. I have for the 10K + miles I have driven. Keeps the turbo from sooting up. The turbo has variable vanes and moves in and out on a shaft. Would like to be able to turn ebrake on once and not have to worry about it, but it is now part of my startup routine.

Using the brake will not keep the O2 sensors clean but will help keep the turbo from sticking. There are new O2's coming soon and a wrap to keep them hotter to burn off the soot. The reason you started getting the P2000 after the G30 is because the monitor was not turned on before the recall. The truck was doing the same thing before the recall, it just never ran the monitor to turn on the CEL.

10,000 miles on my 07. 5. I had the G-30 recall done right after it was available. Knock on wood, no codes since purchase. We only turn on the exhaust brake when towing which is about 50% of the miles so far. Typical trailer we tow is about 7,000 lbs.
