Whats the deal with some folks adding 7 quarts instead of the 6 daimler chrysler calls for ?

there was a hold placed on trucks with the g56 trans and the dealers applied an extra qt before being allowed to sell them... seems some bearings wern't getting lubed... and trannies were dying
