G56 4wd vs 2wd - Rear housing swap?

Does anyone know if the 4wd G56 and the 2wd G56 rear housings can be interchanged? I have 4wd version here on the garage floor and im debating doing a divorced transfercase swap so a 2wd tail housing would be needed, any info?

Let me say that I do not know for a fact but it seems to me that you should be able to do a swap, the only question is if the output shaft will need to be changed which means tearing into the trans.

Is there a website or published information about the G56 trans. I would like to know if there are different models, will they all bolt up to the 241 transfer case, what is the overall length, etc. ?
