G56 interior shift boot removal Question

I worked to install My Pacbrake today and need to pull the shift boot to run the shifter switch wires. Is there any trick to pulling the boot? I looked all through the factory manual and it didn't show it (that I could find!).

Does the 4wd shift knob remove the same way the trans shift knob removes?

I can answer this one - yes. Not sure how the boot comes off...

Correction, check the 2006 service manual page 21-8:

Pry off shift tower boot (1) with a screw driver (2).

I removed the cupholder tray, mine is a 6spd, and felt for the clips. It just popped up. Thanks
