I started to get a vibration and a rattle on the shifter of my 05 ram 3500 with the G56 transmission. It gets worse while towing and above 60mph. Imagine 10 hrs of driving with your hand on the shifter so that the rattling doesn't drive me mad! I took it to the friendly dodge dealer. They called me 3 days later said vibration is from tires needing to be rotated. I say that does not sound right but, go ahead and rotate tires (17k miles) it needed it anyway. Get my truck back hook my 3 car carrier GN and I'm off vibration and ratlle still there. I stop and look under truck and I have transmission fluid leak. I finsh my run (175miles) go back to the dealer
where they just replaced output shaft seal. I asked them what caused a that seal to bad on a truck that only 17k miles. They say don't worry just bad seal. I get home look under truck, you guessed it still leaking, I wipe everthing down take it for a drive and look again yup there is ATF drops. Do I have a bad drive shaft? Any body else have this problem? I hate to take it to the same dealer ..... :{
