G56 leaks

I did a site search and didn't find anything about the rear transmission seal on the G56 being a transmission seal problem, I have less than 20K on my 06 Ram, the rear transmission seal started leaking, out of warranty by time and on my own dime, the rubber getting stiff because of lack of use? or is it something that others have experienced? Not wanting to have a problem on a long trip I opted to have it replaced $$. $$$, bad decision?

There has been some threads about the Seal on the Gear shift leaver failing and there is a new seal to replace it. But for the tail shaft seal..... I had a problem when my clutch replaced the shop wrecked the seal inbetween the G56 and transfer case. It took a few days for the local Dodge supply house to find it.
