Standard told me to use Pennzoil as far back as late 2005 or early 2006 when they overhauled the NV-5600 in my old '01. They've been telling customers for years to use Pennzoil and an overfill as long as I have been hearing about Standard in Fort Worth.

Edit: Reading back over this thread I now realize the original question was about the G-56 not the NV-5600. I have never owned (or wanted) a G-56 and don't know much about them.

Disregard my comments. But, Standard does know what they are talking about. I would follow their recommendation if I owned a G-56.

I think Standard has changed their recommended fluid for the NV5600, when they rebuilt mine in 2010 they recommended AND sold me Amsoil MTF. I am overfilled by default now as they upgraded my fill to be higher on the case, added their power lube mod, etc.



I would agree that whatever their current recommendation is for YOUR application is probably going to be the one to use.
