Over on dieselram, one of the guys emailed AAM about the concern of the drive ratios in G56 equipped trucks.



This was their reply to him. "Yes there is a lot of complaints about the high RPM and low mileage. DCX is looking at a lower ratio (3:42), but it is under testing now. "

With the G56 and 3. 73's my 06' is geared low. Especially when compared to my old 5spd/3. 54 combo. Still in the habit of reaching for the next gear when I'm already in sixth. When towing the combo is great. Since I bought the truck to safely tow my family and stuff I don't complain.

I thought I read on here that AAM has no planes to make any different gears.

There was a post in another thread commenting DCX was working with AAM on higher gearing.

I've copied the email I received from AAM regarding the 3. 42 gear set. Sounds like it gonna happen, just not soon.

Currently there are only two ratio that fits into your Dodge 3:73 and the 4:10. The 3:42 is being developed. I am not sure if it will be in for the 2007 or 2008 model.

I hear many comments about the ratios that available and that many wants lower ratio for fuel savings.
