we have several g56's with temp sensors and tried several different ones. the best is a 50-50 blend of two i do not think brand is important. i carry dello for my roadrangers so that is what i used the same for the amsoil. mix one gallon synthetic syncromesh sae50 transmission fluid with one gallon 5w-30 synthetic syncromesh transmission fluid. use 7 quarts , this is one quart over full and leaves you a quart for when the red seal on top cracks. some time in 2010 i think a vent tube was changed to where you need to extend it . use the sae50 to fill the transfer case

Use the recommended fluid while under warranty then whatever you want to when you are the warranty! I use the ATF made by Amsoil, some of the G56 rebuilders use Amsoil MTF. As long as you change the fluid per the specs you'll be ok. The G56 is just a box with gears that need oil unlike the automatic transmissions which are super sophisticated pieces of engineering marvels that need a clean fluid for clutches and gears and sensors and such. Have you heard about the new 10-speed twin gearshaft Allison for Class 8 trucks? I'd like to have that in my truck!!

My dad recently switched to Royal Purple Syncromax in his 06 G56, he was running Amsoil ATF. He said it shifts a little harder, but still better than my NV5600.
