What hp gain would one expect from a #10 plate and 3K GSK springs on a stock 97 12 valve? And would you also gain some hp(through increased efficiency) from a triple disk torque converter? What would a ballpark figure be?

Thanks,

Jim

How about what fuel pump your truck starts with? And where is the 10 plate positioned? The 3k gsk allows you to run higher RPMs...

From what i understand, the 10 can be good for up to an additional 100HP. PPL correct me if i'm wrong. Hey also check out tst website for a definitive answer : www.tstproducts.com

good luck, dude, what do you want to do?

If I had to make a guess... . I'd say 230-250hp to the ground. That may be a touch High. The GSK will hold that HP and Torque longer. Instead of loosing power at 2200, you'll pull clean to 3000rpm.

The Converter... . depending on what converter you run... you'll FEEL an increase. A dyno run is made when the converter is Locked up. So... . Stock or Aftermarket... you (theoretically) won't have any gain. If the stocker is slipping... well that's another story...

The fuel plate is positioned about in the middle. I use the truck for towing and for daily use. I tow a 8500# 5th wheel and the truck weighs 7400# so I'm about maxed out with weight, need the extra hp in the mountains. Haven't towed since the plate and 3K GSK, but they have considerably improved hiway performance. I also measured my mpg at 23. 5, freeway, not going over 65, 16oz. dieselkleen added to 35 gal.

I have an auto. , 4x4, 85,000 on truck, I was going to replace the trans with a Goerend but my transmission man says with the low miles I probably can get away with just the Goerend torque converter for now, it's a crap shoot, but the tc is guaranteed for life.

Jim

Well, I put in a #6 plate and a boost orifice, wasn't THAT impressed. Put the 3k GSK on... AMAZED. However, my transmission absolutely hates me. With an aftermarket converter, you can put the power to use, particularly while towing.

With the #10 plate I noticed a tremendous improvement, and then when the springs were added it gave even more power but also made for smoother running if that makes sense. I also have an ATS 3 piece exhaust manifold on the way, I noticed some of the manifold bolts were beginning to bend toward the firewall. Since I will be making even more heat it seemed like a good thing to do. The truck has always done well on the flat, but it dies in the mountains, hopefully these mods will help.

I have a number 8 with a goerend triple lock it works very well , power is up with the new model trucks or a little better. :D

Champspa,

Do you tow, and if so are you worried about your stock input shaft. I tow and have an exhause brake, with the new triple loc tc I wonder if the stock input shaft is an issue?

Jim

I tow a gooseneck trailer and a antique tractor total weight including truck 22600. I'm on my 3rd transmission since new , the last one was put in 6k ago at 216k and the input shaft and 1st drum went. I used the mystery switch a lot, using it to slow me down . I question this practice as the 48re just became worthy of the exhaust brake because of reverse thrust . I'm going to run it stock this 100k and see if it will last longer than a 100k pulling as much as often as I do. any more questions just ask. hope I can help :D

You're towing 22,600? Are you on or off road? For my truck GVW is about 16,000. I still have a stock vb so maybe I can avoid breaking my input shaft, I'll be towing next week.
