Thanks, TDR Staff

Mopars at Thunder Mountain - Bandimere, Denver, Sunday 15 May

I need to say a huge THANKS to those who helped for one truck to those troopers who worked all day. Here is a list of most who helped.  (no particular order) We needed every one of you!

Mike & Tammy Lockner-----Shay & Alan Black-----Richard Ebel-----Tim Corneau-----David Gross-----Justin Marrs-----Leonard Yackey-----Dave Hess-----Jordan Amos-----Keith Neal-----Barry Gallager

I know that there were others , but I have brain damage today. :-laf Soot overload.

The trucks were run on a test that loaded the trucks and made most runs from 40's to 70's mph and lasted 8 seconds. This run starts after the dyno loads the eddy brake and spools the turbo. Most trucks make as much boost here as on the street. Some make more and a couple didn't make as much as the street. I do not know why.

We dyno tested 54 trucks and had one shocking interruption. One dodge that we had on the rolls would shock me through the control panel when I ran the test. After repeated attempts to get a run, we pulled the panels off the dyno and checked some wires. We found a leak in an air hose. We had the expert help from Carol Perdue, (thank you)to trouble shoot the dyno wiring. The stuff was reassembled and tried again. Still a shocker. We tried another truck and no problem.

We refunded that man's $ and said sorry. The dyno worked perfectly the rest of the day. We had our usual tach signal difficulties, but they always come and go.

The new facility at GAM was properly christened with diesel smoke. :D :D Now we have to clean it up. :( :( I think we will be looking for more air flow as an upgrade to the room.

THANK YOU DYNO CREW!

Oh yeah, Big thanks to all of you that came out to see us and try out the newest, toughest dyno in the area. Oo. Oo.

It was a blast. (Hard work, too) I hope you had fun!

As usual, Bob, you just rocked! Thanks so much for all the hard work before the big day!! That is where the real work was and nobody really saw all that! I hope we didn't run you down too much, but I know you were in your element all day long. Your wife is a gem and it was great to finally meet her!

Thanks to Bruce Yackey for letting us "take over" his facility and for providing such a top notch one at that! Go get em on the track Bruce!

Thanks to Mike Lockner for organizing and promoting this with me. We make a good team Mike and I know our club always enjoys doing events with your club!

Thanks to all the dyno crew, which by the way were all TDR members, except for my hubby (well he's kinda one of you TDR guys) and Leonard from GAM. Leonard was the only GAM employee there during the day and what an awesome job he did. He told me after it was all over that he thought we would only have 20-25 trucks show up, but we had 56 trucks that we dynoed (yes Bob, it was actually 56!!). I told him that this is a pretty typical showing for one of our dyno days! He was impressed!

Thanks to CH Perdue for helping to get the SuperFlow going again. He is one of our CPSC members and was an engineer at SuperFlow for many years.

Thanks to Tammy Lockner for helping to run the registration table, since as usual I was up and down all day talking and keeping track of things.

Thanks to Garnsey-Wheeler Ford for sending that new 05 PSD out for display (by the way, where were the 05 Cummins and Dmax? :-laf I think they stood us up Mike!).

Thanks to Bill (another CPSC member) for bringing out his concession cart and for grilling up our lunch!

And thanks to everyone who showed up that day, for your patience in lines and your hard work on your trucks!!! I for one think we put on a fine event!!

:D

Shay Black

By the way, I have all the results on disc and I will get them posted on our club website soon. I will post here with a link as soon as that is done, so you'll all have access to them!

Nice to meet all of you. Thanks to all and the guy who was marking the balancers for torque reading lol. Mine was a little dirty lol. Don said 500+ with Mach4s and it put down 514 on what I was told was a stingy Superflow dyno with a reg Comp. I stumbled upon a pretty good combo with 514hp at 33psi and 1325f egts. No smoke off idle if you pay attention and cleans up very well on top even on 5x5. Pretty tickled...

Some nice rigs up there. BigBully's seventy-something Ford with a 12 valve was a pretty neat truck and ran well too. There was a pesky Ford there on straight up diesel who eaked out a win on me lol. Nice work Mike! What can I sell so I can afford some head work, Mach7s, and a B2 on the bottom lol.

Dockboy, I'll have something for you buddy... count on it :-laf

Just so you know, Mike & Tammy Lockner, David Gross(Tach Tape Installer) & Jonathan Scheistel(Local ServiceMaster Cleaner) & I all showed up this AM for breakfast at Perkins (Thanks Mike) and then went to the soot room and cleaned for a couple of hours. We made a good dent in the soot. I took some pics of the shadows.

Thanks to you who helped clean up!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great event! Bob, Shay, Matt, et al did a great job of organizing. The big screen made it kind of cool.

I was impressed with the Superflow. While I normally can't get my truck over 1300 EGT, that SF put the hurt to it-- 1500 degrees!

Goood event!

What a Great Day!!!

I would like to say Thanks to Greeley Automotive machine, Bruce Yackey, LaserBob, Shay Black, Lenard Yackey and everyone esle for a GREAT event. We could not put this on without the help and dedication from many people. We some how put together a crew of Great people and a good location for these dyno days. There were a lot of big horse power trucks, along with the guys who were base lining for their upgrades planned for the future. We were anywhere from stock to around 700 HP, depending on the modifications. I am looking forward to seeing everyone at future events.

Okay, just to get you all started, here is a link to where you can download the SuperFlow software to view the results:

http://www.superflow.com/support/support-dynosoft.htm

I will have the results posted soon. I'm having some issues with figuring out how to post them and will be consulting my computer guru, Carl, tomorrow. Once you have the software all downloaded and I post a link with the results to download, then you will be able to view graphs.

Thanks for the link Shay, I forgot to do that. It's been a long week-end. I am sure you can relate. By the way that was a nice burn-out, it was at least $40 worth of rubber left behind.

Mike L.

Mike, please don't encourage him. :-laf Thank goodness those tires are getting old anyway, and were cheap when we bought them!! I told him he better start looking for another set of wheels and then turn to you for burn out tires to have around.

Bob,

Can you post that picture (and any others) over on our club website photo gallery? I have an album all set up under club events and am working on getting my pics posted there. In fact, anyone who has pictures from the GAM event, I would appreciate you posting them on the club website. Here is a link: http://www.coloradopowerstrokeclub....ame=gallery&file=index&include=view_album.php

Geez, putting Alan, Bob and Mike together is just asking for trouble! Bet the tire makers just love you guys!

I thought I would leave somthing you couldn't clean up Bob!!! Thanks for a great time. Good job Bob! Mike, thanks for dinner and drinks had a good time. Sorry Shay and I couldn't make it back to help out on the great smoke out clean up.

Later

We forgot to give a special thanks to the goober in the jacked up white d-max, lic. no. "PNS-NVY" for backing over the garbage can and dragging it accross the parking lot. Realizing what he had done, decided the best solution was to burn rubber outta there. :)

I'm waiting to see the photo of you putting the big hug on Clint! Hopefully, someone caught it. What is the deal, going for the Crown: "Purple Princess of the Purple Palace?" :-laf ... or "4P" for short... .

Seriously, I heard it was a great event, and well attended. I wish I could have been there. Talked to Bob this evening on some deals, and sounded like he has finally got some energy back. 58 trucks? That's killer.

Shay, I had to tease you a little..... Thanks for your support for the diesel performance world, Ford, GM, and Dodge.....

Geez! Where have I been? Totally missed that one Scott. Good one though. :-laf I don't know if anyone got a pic of Clint and I chatting, but I did wonder about that. It was good to talk to him. Purple Princess? I think that title is already taken. Clint does have a wife who seems to be right in the thick of the diesel stuff. :)

And yes, we did miss ya, but totally understand your schedule! I'm sure I will run into you at a few events this summer. I can't wait to see you and Eric digging up the track, hopefully on Truck Fest weekend.

Thanks for the compliments on the GAM dyno day. It did go well, lots of folks worked really hard to make it happen.

Take care,

Shay

By the way, LaserBob, thanks for the recent referral. I think Alan got it covered after many phone calls and running him to the airport. Glad Brian could get him taken care of quickly.

Did you ever get those GAM pics downloaded so you can post them??
