Motorcycle Trip To The Arkansas Ozarks

A trip down Market Street - April 1906

If you think your gas powered car or truck runs like crap now, just wait. I just heard the (I think it was the) EPA just OK'd an additional 15% ethanol be added to gas. I guess the corn farmers in the mid west are as well connected as ever.

AFAIK, the percentage is going from 10 to 15- that's a 50% increase. I suppose it's no problem for FF vehicles, perhaps it could be an issue for engines designed to run on only gasoline.

Get ready for the corresponding drop in fuel economy.

Here in ontario , mcewen stations have had 15% ethanol for several years. I can see no difference in mileage in my commuting car(2001 corolla)which has 430,000km and counting. Exhaust is original and plugs when changed at 250000km still looked like new. Putting in new plugs made no dicernable difference. I record mileage at every fill... and as of 2yrs ago have spent more in gas than I paid for car new.

Do all grades have the ethanol? mine supposedly requires premium but @4200' I use mid grade. I head at one time that premium did not have the ethanol.

Just wondering.

The government needs to get out of the business of legislating laws in affairs by which they so illiterate. Their meddling and mandating laws by which they know nothing is like a blind man flying a plane.
