Methanol/gal?

Diesel/Veggie oil blend

Did You See Dateline Tonight... some Billionaire Claimed He Could Make Ethanol For Less Than A Dollar A Gallon. . Think He Also Said They Could Get Going In Less Than 3 Years. If I Got This Right He Is Suppose To Meet With The White House And Car Makers About This New Technodlogy Soon... it Seems Reasonable To Think If We Got All The Cars Running On Fuel For A Dollar Surely Diesel Fuel Would Come Down Too... what's Your Opinion ???????? Doc

One or several of the big oil companies will pay for the design or patent well enough, then bury the idea so that it would never see the light of day. It's what's been happening for years.

Even now look at the hybrids and electrics, the studies have shown that in fuel savings it will take an average of five to seven years of ownership to offset the additional cost of the vehicle for the average person. I'm sure it would happen faster if you were one of those that drive tens of thousands of miles a year.

The issue isn't what they can "make it" for it's what they can GET, and charge at the pump - they can already "make" gas and diesel for under $1 a gallon - but WE sure never get it for anywhere near that... ;) :(

bingo. you guys DO realise that last year, exxon made 11 BILLION dollars PROFIT. in three months. the largest profit margin EVER RECORED BY A SINGLE CORPORATION. EVER. during katrina. during this "war". i'm not going to go off on a moolie style conspiracy rant, but come on. think about this stuff. does it make sense? start making bio diesel in your garage. let the people who aren't willing to seek alternatives, or at least learn something new, pay out their rear holes. anyway, the rant is over.

Hey Tdr Fans,,,, Lets See A Show Of Hands Of You Brave People Who Are Using Bio Stuff Or What Ever And Haven't Been To The Repair Shop With Injector Or Pump Problems???? Another Thing,,, Doesn't Bio What Ever Cost Just As Much As Diesel No 2 Fuel????? Didn't I Read In The Tdr Where That Stuff Is Hard On Ejectors Etc??? Ive Heard Of People Using Canola Oil And Big Mac Oil,, Motor Oil, And Etc... Im Fed Up With The High Cost Of Fuel Too ... . i Just Wish There Was A Cheaper Way To Go... What Say You???? Speak Up. . Doc,

I have heard that about 1/2 of the cost of fuel goes to the government in the form of various taxes and cost of standards/regulations, etc. That would make fuel much cheaper y'know.

Those evil profits you hear about are gross. Profit margins on fuel is about 5% and has been so for a long time. That margin is much less than almost any other comsumer goods.

I thought ethanol was a energy losing product. In other words, it takes more energy to make it than to you can get out of it. But I don't know diddly about ethanol because we only have oil burner at my house.

Saw it , but will we get it ?
Make your own fuel , or get together with others and make it .
A bad tank of dino fuel will ruin your day also , the only thing that good bio will ruin is the oil companies day .
One of the rules of propaganda is , if you can not hide it , mix it with so many lies that nobody will figure it out .
Found a source that passes the dollar onto the consumer , it seems to me that that was the idea , give the consumer a break for make good choises , Not more $$$ to the refiners .
Still need to find out more about the discount / tax opptions ?
Some day when I'm making it I will not be interestd .
$1. 89 fri. but through someone so can not pass along at this time .
About $00. 40 per gal when homebrew , not counting labor , but the waste cooking oil is free for the taking so far .

A man walks into a Quick-Mart, tells the clerk he wants a dollars worth of gas and gives him the money.

The clerk raises one cheek off his stool and farts. Another satisfied customer.

Hey Doc,

Allow me to have some fun...

Q: "Lets See A Show Of Hands Of You Brave People Who Are Using Bio Stuff Or What Ever And Haven't Been To The Repair Shop With Injector Or Pump Problems????"

A: :-laf So far, so good. I've used commercial biodiesel all the way up to 100% and have had no problems to date. I like the quieter running (and it's 3rd Gen already) and the more pleasant exhaust smell. Got to be careful when it gets cold, but no problems thus far.

Q: "Another Thing,,, Doesn't Bio What Ever Cost Just As Much As Diesel No 2 Fuel?????

A: Sequential Biofuels charges $3. 29 at the pump in the Portland Oregon area. . and has for some time. Prices have been at that value for 6 months...

Q: "Didn't I Read In The Tdr Where That Stuff Is Hard On Ejectors Etc???"

A: Ok, here's the fun part. Thus far, when I've hit the ejectors button, not a single passenger has come back and complained!!! Oo.

Sooooo. . actually, I don't know I've heard of injector problems with biodiesel, but there have been issues with some engines when using SVO (straight vegetable oil) or WVO (waste vegetable oil). They change the spray pattern enough to cause some issues, gumming rings, etc. . There is at least one product out there that is supposed to fix that, "diesel secret" (no flames please). Used in combination with other things (kerosene, a little unleaded gas, power service, etc) it makes a mixture using SVO/WVO that seems to work Ok for "cj". Check out the alternative fuels forum here at TDR - he's been keeping a good log/blog of his experiments with different mixtures over the course of the winter.

Q: "Ive Heard Of People Using Canola Oil And Big Mac Oil,, Motor Oil, And Etc...

A: Yup. Me too. On the motor oil front, there seems to be a safe level such that you can make good use of your waste after the next oil change. One product actually introduces fresh oil into a semi's engine and sends the same amount - constantly and in small amounts - into the fuel. Only thing I've heard is that some of the additives might cause injector deposits, but the info is anecdotal, not definitive.

Q: "Im Fed Up With The High Cost Of Fuel Too ... . i Just Wish There Was A Cheaper Way To Go... What Say You????"

A: Amen, preacher!!
