How much of a fuel reserve is there in a 04 2500? Its a 34 gal tank and I usually fill up when the DTE is about 30miles left, and the most I ever put in was 28 gal and that was toped off. I average about 19. 5 to 20. 5

It's my observation most fuel tank gauges have about ten percent on top of the scale and ten percent on the bottom.

For a 34 gallon, that means the needle will stay stuck on full until roughly 3. 5 gallons are gone, and another 3. 5 will be found below empty.

On my '02 and now my '04. 5 I have roughly 8 gallons left when the fuel light comes on.
