I just found a third tank with the fungus. Gasoline less than a month old and from a reputable distributor. Gasoline WAS treated with a stabilizer. Naptha will NOT cut it. Must be wiped with clean rags. I am now treating with the diesel anti fungal at 1/4 oz. per 5 gal. gasoline. I just hope this helps some of you, at least beware. Fungus looks like 1/4 inch ropes about a foot long or in puddles 2-3 inches in diameter. Looks almost like a grease strip. This is in N. E. Texas.

Gas... what's that?

I filled the Jeep up for the first time in 6 months and I was like, phew, this stuff stinks! :-laf

Never had fungus issues with any of my gasoline powered vehicles - I'd like to hear more on this one...

NOW, I *have* heard about fungus problems with DIESEL powered engines - pretty nasty stuff it seems...

All the fungus needs is a carbon and hydrogen source to feed off of; gasoline will do just fine. Fuel fungi actually do live in water though; so your "reputable" distributor must have a condensation problem in his tanks. No water = no fungi.

A by product of the fungi is acid, so make sure you clean everthing out well.
