Wow. Don't know why so cheap. There was a guy in Oregon, I believe, that started selling his gas at 2. 99 a few weeks ago. This was about 30+ cents cheaper than anyone else in his area. Caused quite a hubbub and traffic problems. So quess what, the local government stepped up and said he couldn't sell gas that cheap b/o it caused so much of a traffic problem. Free country, Yeah, right. I just filled up for 2. 99 here. Didn't think I'd see that again.
It has been at $1. 95 here in Burleson for two weeks, it was all over the local papers for a day or two. Other stations are over $2. I have been told it's lower here due to not being in a county that requires ethanol blended gas. Three miles down the road its at $2. 19. Diesel is still over $3
$2. 37 for gas/$2. 69 for diesel. Enjoy it while you can as I can smell a $0. 50/gal tax coming with the checks and balance system we had gone now from Congress. It's just patriotic.
Actually according to AAA there are several states averaging just above $2 for gas right now. But the discrepancy between gas and diesel prices continues to increase. Who knows why. I have been watching this for awhile, it has typically been 50-60 cents difference around here, but now diesel is 80 cents higher. In Spokane it's $1. 01 higher for diesel.
On the NBC news clip I saw tonight it showed $1. 99 for gas at that station and $3. 29 for diesel
