Ok guys getting ready to flush my cooling system, Im putting CAT ELC in and I figure for good measure ill change the thermostat since my truck has 213k and may have the original one it still. Should I only use the Cummins one or is that 180 gates that Genos sells fine?

I thought about Running the CAT ELC, awsome stuff just didint feel like dealing with my local dealer/ex employer to get it. Last time I priced it out it wasnt cheap though that was 3 years ago, for how long it should last im starting to think I should have got it.

I am running the CAT ELC in my Cat powered big truck, Cat recommends 300,000 then add an additive and go another 300,000 . This winter I plan on changing my ctd over to Cat ELC. I use the concentrait with distilled water. Most heavy truck part suppliers have it at a little less than $20 a gallon. Hope this helps in some way .

I would go with the Cummins t-stat. You don't know how long the Gates will last but have pretty good idea how long the Cummin's will (not that Gates doesn't have quality parts).

the cummins stats are defective. the rubber sleeve slides off and plugs the port. I know and I found out after, that this is common.
