Has anybody out there in TDR land successfully installed any gauge in their ash tray? I have a triple pod already and thought that would be a good place for it. I have seen it where the cigarette lighter goes but would like it in the tray. What do you all think?

I have mine where the ash tray was. I have the pyro on the pillar and the trans temp. and boost where the ash tray was. I like it but it is not as easy to read as I would like. I wish I had tried to turn the ash tray upside down and had it open from the bottom to have them at a angle to read. I have them flat on the ashtray door and glued the door in place. Hope this helps. I don't know how to do pictures here but I could e-mail some to you. Tommie

I have the face plate for a Yeasu 7800 amateur 2m radio to install and have looked at putting the detachable face in the ash tray minus the butt part. . only thing I can think of if building a aluminum plate to go inside and then mount instrument or gauge on the exposed flat part... kinda confusing but I think it will work
