i bought autometer ultra lite trans, pyro, and boost gauges with a a-pillar mount. any suggestions on where or how to mount them? i have done a search and seen pre and post pyro ... whats better? and i have read that the trans has a plug i can pull out and stick the probe in will this work on my truck? and should i get the piers boost fitting for the boost gauge?? i know this is probably getting old all the gauge questions but some help would be greatly appreciated thanks for all the input -- drew

Drew, Pre turbo is the way to go for accuracy. Also, the best way to mount the trans temp sender is by using a trans line from a '95 model, it has a port for the sender built-in.

The Piers boost fitting is a nice simple install, or you can remove a plug from the head just behind the fuel filter, and get the fittings from the local hardware store and mount it there.

Fuse number 5 in the fuel panel is a good one for the gauges lights, since it is a dimmer to match your dash lights.

i have a mechanical fuel gauge under the hood that i check regurarly i zip tie it to the winshield wiper. rob what fittings would i need from the hardware store ?? is insted of the piers fitting?

oh ya the trans line which line how much and where can i get one?? and does that mean that there is no plug to pull out and stick the probe in?

Drew, you'll need a 3/4" pipe thread bushed down to 1/8" pipe thread fitting, and then a 1/8" compression fitting for the boost hose to fit into.

You need to get the line from the Dodge dealer(about $115), tell them it's the pressure line from the trans to the heat exchanger, I have the part number somewhere, but it's MIA at the moment.

There are plugs in the trans that a sender will fit into, but they are an inaccurate reading.

I just installed my Isspro EV Trans Temp gauge a few weeks ago. I bought my line from Desertdiesel parts in Phoenix- Fred. It was $85 + shipping. He is a member & his # is somewhere in this forum (I cant find it).

Also Mopar4less.com has discounted parts. Its an actual Advantage Dodge in Farmington, New Mexico, Call 800 748 2139- ask for internet parts department. When you get to parts dept. ask for Elias- he knows his stuff, is very helpful & a pleasure to deal with. I didnt buy my line from him but I bought some other parts that were very well priced.

It's worth the shopping at least with the 2 I mentioned.
