Gages are installed, Pyro, Boost, Trans Temp. :D I bought that 3 gage A-pillar mount from Geno's but I am not happy with the way it fit. At the top it is not up against the existing cover. I don't know if I didn't cut enough of the handle off or what. Also, the bottom gage pod rubs the dash. Finally, these gages are way out in my view creating a huge blind spot, maybe if it fit better they wouldn't stick out so far, I think the best I can gain is about a . 5". I think someone could have spent a little more time designing that Gage mount to move them closer to the A -pillar. Anybody have any tricks, ideas, or know of a better product? I love the idea of having the gages on the pillar, but that Pro-Pod mount needs some work.

All of the pillar mounts in the 03 have that in your face quality because of how reclined the pillar is. If you dont like this one you wont like any of them IMO. This is the reason I got BDs Xmoniter. If your not familiar with it it is a digital readout that mounts below the handle. It retains high numbers in memory that can be reset individually at any time and alarms that can be set to whatever level you desire. The unit is easy to read and can be adjusted for brightness. It is custom formed and fits in well in terms of appearance. If you want pm me an email and I can send you a picture. Unfortunately this would mean you would have to go buy a new pillar to install it on.

Please tell me more about these Krabman. Sounds like something no one has been talking about. You can email pictures to me if you would like, or post on here. I'm looking for an easier way to mount gauges.

Thanks,

Blake

xmonitor

Maybe it would be a good idea to post a pic for eveyone to see. I'm sure there would be many who would be interested in all the options. Like me too.

No problem steve, but Im going to need your email addy. : ) I have no objection to someone with the photo skills posting my picture, every time I try it turns into a bunch of blocks before it gets small enough to post here.

krabman,

I've had much better luck posting the photo in the Readers Rigs and linking to it there. Readers rigs will take a "larger" photo.

x-monitor install

Is the x-monitor install plug and play or does it use conventional pyro prob in the exhaust manifold, and a boost tap on the intake. How does it wire in to the truck?

Another option is the use of a SPA gauge that is a single round gauge that has digital EGT and boost, I installed this single gauge on my A pillar using the single gauge pod from Geno's. This single pod keeps everything well below the dreaded handle and it fit wonderfully. I bought the matching interior paint from Genos and I'm completely happy... ... ... .

It comes with a boost bolt and a replacement fitting for a banjo. The pyro is a drill job. The form has to be painted. Outside of getting power from the truck it is a standalone unit. Install is about 2 hours and the unit comes with ok (not great, not bad) instructions. It is about the same as installing standard gauges except all the sending units go to a box under the dash and from there a line runs up to the moniter portion. Oh, and thanks for getting that picture up for me.

Thanks Krabman for posting it. I never did get it in my email.

Hey what does this thing cost? Where did you buy it?

You guys who use the single gauge with boost and egt in one unit, will the single pod from Geno's fit under the grab handle without removing it?

Thanks.

http://www.bd-power.com The price vary's depending on which options you choose. If you decide to buy use a credit card, they always get a better exchange than you will. If your only going to get boost and egt were you aware that the controllers for TST and edges upcoming timing boxes had those? Not sure if your considering a box but something to think about if you are.

Krabman, did you install the XMonitor yourself or have someone do it for you. If yourself, how complcated was it? Drilling, tapping etc?
