Ft. Collins Dyno Day April 12th

How Did the RMTDR dyno day go?

Colorado TDR members,

I'm a new TDR member, just joined this week in fact, but I have been perusing this site for several months now in preparation for purchasing my first Dodge Cummins. This site is great! :D

Anyway, now that I have my first Cummins, I'd like to get gauges installed and am wondering where local Coloradoans have gone to get their gauges installed and what the costs were.

I'm looking at a 3-gauge a-pillar setup to include pyro, boost, and fuel pressure. I am also considering doing what one member did and that was to add a toggle switch to have the fuel pressure gauge read both pre and post-filter.

Any suggestions of good shops to trust preferably near Colorado Springs, but Denver would work too.

Thanks.

Gauges

I appreciate both these replies. I would love to do them myself, but would only do it with someone helping me who has done them before. Don't mind getting dirty, but with such an expensive truck (the most I've ever spent), I just am not confident enough to go wrenching around under the hood yet. Give me a year and that may change, but I'd like the gauges well before then.

I will probably check out the shop in Castle Rock. I realize different gauge choices / options desired affect the price, but I'm just curious if a budget of $500-600 would cover what I'm looking for (parts & labor).

As far as gauges, I have heard good things about AutoMeter ultra-lites and Isspros. Probably comes down to personal preference I guess. If one or the other looks more like stock, especially at night, that would probably be my choice. I saw a thread on the 3rd gen regarding which gauges looked like OE, but would gladly take suggestions for the same on a 2nd gen.

Thanks again,

Steve

I have not done a gauge install, but bolting on after market trinkets is something that I have tons of experience at. That and I have a very difficult time paying $200 for an install that would only take me a couple of hours and a set of directions. If you get hung up, you have the best source in the world for any trouble shooting right here on the TDR!

PM me and I would be more than happy to give you a hand.

Five-R in Golden. I didn't have my gauges installed there (I did them myself), but they do plenty of installs. This is the phone number I got off the web: 303-278-1830.

CORed,

Welcome to the TDR!

I'm in the same process. I'm leaning towards the Isspro EV with the red pointers. You can also get green bulb covers so they will be like the Dodge gauges.

Please post how you come out with this. I'll be getting the gauges soon.

Hi Guys I am a member of the Great Lakes Turbo Diesel Register. I was helped and have helped other members of this local chapter of the TDR. We have wrench days that a lot of stuff gets done from killer dowel pins to turbo's to stacks,injectors,gauges,etc... My reccommendation is get involved with a local chapter in your area and people will come out of the woodwork to help with things. Good Luck Kirk
