I've searched a bunch of ways but I can't find data on gauge sets, and holders for the 1st gen trucks.

Help please, what am I missing?

Clay

You can get the gauges from a lot of different suppliers. I bought mine from Geno's Garage, and was happy with the prices and service. I'm using Isspro EV series pyro, boost, and trans temp gauges.

I bought my gauge pod from US Gear, and picked up some paint to match the interior from a local auto body supply house.

Thanks!

That's the pod I'd like but I don't see it on the US Gear site. Do you have a part number, or do you know where else to get it?

Clay

For whatever reason, US Gear doesn't list them on the website. Here are the numbers for the 3-gauge pod and base:

DC-6530 Pod

DB-5930 Base

PDR has the same thing just not listed ont their site. Call them and they will know what you need. They also have the single and dual a-pillar mounts from, I believe, autometer.

For those that have put these in, did yours say Banks on the bottom of the base and/or holder?

I've been looking for that mount myself. I picked up a set of used gauges from the classifieds here but I need a 1st gen mounting. Will call US Gear tomorrow. Oo.

BTW, Dan

Is that your garage or do you park your truck in an automotive art museum? :D :D

cerberusiam - I don't think mine said Banks on the bottom, but I don't remember looking that closely, either. ;)

I can't afford to put a real street rod in the garage, so the photos will have to do. :D

I got my 4 gauge pod from Piers, and gauges from Isspro. Very happy with them. I had a problem with my egt... . and they sent parts, a few times before I sent the bunch back to them. The found the problem, and sent back my gauge and probe at no cost to me. It took a while to get it figured out, but they were great.

Be prepared to spend around $50 for the usgear 3 gauger and base. Usgear has 2-5 gauge dash pods like that. I have the usgear 3 gauge dash and a two gauge pillar from autometer, bought it from geno's. Pics in RR's. Mine didn't say Banks on it anywhere.

dieselman359 :-laf sorry I was wrong he's got a 4 gauger. I'm I was told from the folks at usgauge they make a 5 gauger.

I think, and this is only my opinion, but the 4 gauge pod is about as big/long as you want to go... . after that they'd start to look kinda gangly/goofy, well, you know... .

Another option is the dash pod used on the second gen trucks... they can be "trimmed and tweaked" to look real nice.

The main issue is the placement on the dash top... you need to hang back from the dashs' forward edge but not so far back that they interfere with the heater vent...

Another member has tweaked a similar guage pod and mounted it on the headliner above the rear view mirror... his setup looked pretty good to me..... OK WHO WAS THAT ????? jump in here dude... .

pb... . :D:D:D

Hiya pastor! ... yup - dat's me... well mine isn't above the mirror, but it's 2nd gen pod that I used. I 'been outta it a bit - I think I deserve a 10 hp penalty for being 'absent'... but here's my pics of the 2nd gen gauge pod setup, trimmed and installed with Autometers x3:
