Installing gauges and need to hook lights to dimmer. Instructions say to use the 5 amp location in the fuse block. Did you guys find an easy way to get to backside or did you just plug the wire into the fuse connection? My preference is to hook into the output side on the back.

Stay away from fuse taps!!!

An easier (and better) way to get gauge lights, is to tap into the TAN wire on the headlight switch. Just pull the bezel, unscrew the switch, and tap onto that wire. Easier and more reliable than a fuse tap.

What I did, is took the panel that goes around the gauges and radio off. Take the three screws that hold the light switch on and pull back switch. Then found the positive wire that control voltage to the dash lights. Which is the bottom right. Check with volt meter, just watch the volts it goes from 5 two 12. I did it this way because it works great and the the install is so clean. (no evidence of add on's) There is already a fuse on that circut so no need to add another.
