I would like to get some opinions on the best way to mount gauges. A piller or dash pod? I want to get a Westech dual egt & boost, transmission temp and fuel pressure. I was considering pulling gauges out of old truck but think I'm going to get new ones. I'm not that happy with my old Isspro's,lights are differnt colors, transmission temp sticks. Also any opinoons on Westech gauges

Thanks Mike

i think the westach gauges are much better to look at at night - easyer than the dipricol by far. the red pointer stands oyt clear against the black &white back ground. qualiyt is great also. i wish i had bought all westach. good luck -carl

Just what you need, an opinion for both options.

I have both the pillar and the dash pod. In my opinion, I much prefer the dash pod. I find that you really have to refocus from the road to read the pillar whereas with the pod, you can always kind of see where the pointers are out of the corner of your eye. Also, I commute on a winding mountain road, and the pillar does take away some extra visibility. People will say that they have not noticed this but they aren't weaving around sharp turns either. Finally, everyone that rides in my truck, seems to think that the pod was installed at the factory whereas the pillar is a definite add-on. Both are properly painted to match the dash color.

The Westack's are suppose to have excellent customer service and they will make up a guage any way that you want them. In the small aircraft industry, however, they are known as a cheaper quality gauge. This doesn't mean that they aren't a quality gauge for a truck application though.

I had a 2 pod pillar set up and changed to the three pod. Go with the 3 pod and put it on like recommended by Genos where you screw it to post. Like dresslered said they look like factory. I did have to use one of Genos rubber donuts for my fuel pressure and mounted it down by 4X4 shift lever. Again go with the pillar mount.

Go for the "A" - Pillar it looks and functions very well. The Westachs are great - at a glance you can tell where the red tip of the needle is. As mentioned previously follow the Geno's instructions - dump the factory pillar cover and add a screw to the Autometer pillar pod. MHO
