Would like to know where everyone is placing their gauges on the 2004 CTD's.

I had the tripple pillar mount on my 2001 but now that the new trucks have the grab bar there... where is a good place to put gauges ?? I don't care for the dash pods... .

I have the a-pillar. . the only complaint is that it make the blind spot bigger. Father in law is getting his guages put in the cubby hole. I don't miss the grab handle at all.

I have a dash pod... it's always in view of the road and does not require me to look in any direction other than in front of me. With the a-pillar pods, I've found that you need to 'look' at them to see them... . with the dash pod, they are always in view.

I see in your reply that you have rear wheel liners ?

My 2001 had liners but the 2004 does'nt... . looks like someone got dressed but forgot to put their socks on... .

Where did you get them ??

You get them from the Dealer. They're about 90 bucks for the pair. I had the dealer throw them into the deal when I got the truck, but they are not an option on the truck... My 99 came with them, and wouldn't have it any other way.

I used the steering column mount from autometer. Fits very nicely and only blocks odometer, 4WD and CRUISE indicators, but all can be seen with a little head motion. See Pics in my gallery.

Does the dashpod block forward vision in anyway? I'm assuming you look right over them due to their location and the slope of the Ram hood.

I put an air pressure gauge (dual needle) where the cigar lighter is (was). It's a bit of a tight fit, but looks like it came from the factory that way.

i have my pyro there... sometimes a little hard to read [need to look down at it] so i may move it to the steering collum pod [and stick another less importent gauge in the cigg hole]

XJSuperman had his triple gauge pack on the dash of his 04 4x4 with no sight loss,my 04 has a pyro in the single pillar mount with no sight loss,it has the grab handle as well, the colour is a perfect match.

My 4x4's pics are still in my reader's rig picutres including the pics of the triple dash pod.

Here's my opinion: If you have an auto... you need 2 guages MINIMUM: pyro and trans temp. SO just get the 3rd guage being BOOST and use the triple dash pod.

Since I traded for my 6spd truck I am just going to use a pyro guage and mount it in the single pillar mount (hopefully this Friday. )
