I have a new (to me) low mileage, 2001 2wd Dodge 2500HD Cummins Auto. I plan to pull a 8-10k# 5th Wheel.

I plan to relocate the lift pump and add a fuel pressure gage.

Beyond that, I want to add gauges before I start modifying the truck for more power/economy. I am considering installing either 3 traditional 2" gages (Trans. Temp, Boost & EGT) or a Quadzilla Commander Module.

I would welcome comments that will help me make the correct choice.

Thanks

My personal choice will always be old-school analog easy to read gauges. It's a personal choice really.

I personally like the traditional gauges but the Edge with Attitude is a nice setup. If you want to save some money and don't need as much power go for the Quadzilla.

I have the same gauges you want in my truck. I mounted the fuel pressure gauge below the dashboard near the 4/wd shifter. The other 3 are on the A-pillar. I really like them!

I'm confident that the trans temp gauge has saved me frying the trans several times over. GREAT investment!!! The EGT isn't a problem except at high altitude or with modifications. The boost gauge really doesn't do that much on a stock truck, but it can help troubleshoot problems and measure the improvements in modifications.

I would vote for traditional analogue guages

If you do not plan on major mods the electronic will be fine but the more mods the more you have to drive with the pyro and boost gauges and if you are towing with an auto, the trans temp is a must. If you read the vp44 threads you will know that you have to have a fuel press gauge. I am a low tech kind of person so I just prefer the analog.
