Is there any reason that a mechanical oil pressure gauge couldn't be used as a fuel pressure gauge? i am aware of the issues regarding fuel in the cab etc etc etc. But other than that, would it cause any problems for the gauge or otherwise?

not sure but maybe the thickness of the fluids might make a diff... do you have the oil gauge and just want to use it, if not buy the fuel gauge...

Should work OK, but I would recommed an isolator for safety. Depending on the gauge range, swing and resolution it may not be as accurate.

any 0-15 lb gauge will work go to genosgarage.com and get the taped banjo bolt and go to autozone and get a oil pressure gauge installation kit, get the copper one it is about $9 and has all of the fittings needed with 6' of copper line i usually get the gauge from ww granger for about $15 i mount most of ours down by the shifter using the smallest gauge i can get. you only need to glance at it about once a month. the only time we mount one on the dash is on the trucks with the vp44's

i already got the fuel pressure gauge and a ported and tapped tee to tie into the fuel pressure line right before the cp3. I also already have the oil pressure gauge, but i accidentally ordered an extra one so i was going to use it to tie into the fuel line before the first filter. That way i could monitor before and after pressure. Can anyone think of a good use for an extra 0-100psi oil pressure gauge?

no and there is no need for a pre gauge before the first filter. as long as you have 1 psi under load at the cp3 you are good to go
