I think this may be my first post. I have been reading this site for a couple of years now. Anyways, before you guys yell at me for not searching, please let me tell you my situation. I'm currently on a Aircraft Carrier cover operations in Iraq. It took me 45 minutes to get the new tread page to load so searching and reading each post is going to be nearly impossible. At least for the next 4-5 months.

Ok, so I have some basic questions about gauges. I'm thinking of using the Pricol gauge that are in my Geno's magazine that I brought out with me.

1. Boost gauge- If I use the RLT Boost adapter, which gauge do I need- 0-35,60 or 100? Mounting seems straight forward

2. Fuel Pressure- for an 08, 6. 7, manual transmission, which is better mechincal or electical? Which one 0-30,60 or 0-100? Where do you mount the mechnical gauge? do I use that fuel filter cap with pressure port? where does that thing go?

3. EGT gauge- seems straight forward and I saw pictures of the place to mount it the other day.

Thanks guys for the information and not yelling at me to loadly. . I'm a newbie so I have to expect it anyways, right. . LOL. .

Hey CR, no yelling here from me, you have probably had enough of that for a while ;) I'm putting in a EGT probe on my 6. 7 and its pretty tight access. Pick yourself up a 3/8" right angle drill if you can, it will make life much easier. I picked up a pneumatic right angle drill, makes for a real tight little package instead of an electric one.

BTW, if it hasn't been said yet, welcome aboard.

Thank you for your service to our country. I am a retired master chief who clearly understands your situation and appreciates your sacrifice.

Maximum boost on stock engines is approximately 30 psi. A 0-35psi boost gauge will work fine. I prefer a 60 psi boost gauge but either will work great.

I don't use a fuel gauge and, frankly, have never seen the need for one but some swear that they are very important. Your choice.

Send an e-mail to Brandon at Geno's Garage and he can tell you what products he sells to TDR members most often and make recommendations for the gauges and hardware you need.

Hey my son is out their with you on the Abe Lincoln, you guys stay alert out thre.

As far as the boost gauge I would get the 0-60 if you ever plan on adding a programmer or box you can peg the 35psi gauge.

The LP fuel pressure gage is good to have on a modded truck because of the fuel demands placed on the system, but stock probab;y not required. I went with the rail pressure gage on mine because I will be doing some more fueling mods in the future. When we had the block mounted LP's that would not last the LP pressure gage was definately a must.

Thanks SR. The info on the F/P guage will help. Looks like I'll hold off on it for now.

Small world, If your son needs anything tell him to stop by medical and talk to HMC Cole. I'd be glad to help him. .

Will stay safe and focused to put Warhead on Foreheads...

I would not waste the money on a lift pump pressure gauge.
I would run the 0-60 psi for the Boost as i have hit 41-42 psi with my 6. 7 and it was said on a few other forums that the max boost for the 6. 7 is 46psi.
Also to AutoMeter is a great brand. i had the pyro quit working on me. I called them up and explain what it was doing and that i had no prof of purchase. I sent just the gauge to them and they sent a brand new sealed in the box pyro and gauge back to me. So they have a great customer service.
