I've searched and searched and now I am totally confused.

Orange/brown for the dimmer portion/power to the lights?

Grounds can all go to the same spot under the dash, just pick one?

Cigarette lighter wire for juice?

Orange/pink? Brown/orange?

I think I should have been color blind... ... ... aaaaaaaaargh.

This is for a Westach combo boost/egt on the 2004. Not a 04. 5, regular 04.

Thanks.

Not sure about #1 on an 04 model.

Yes to #2.

Cigarette lighter if you want a key switched power source. If you want full time power use the supply to the "power outlet" or "power port" whichever they call it.

Get power from Cigarette lighter.

As for which 'orange wire'. Tap them both... whichever one doesn;t work with the dimmer just tape it up. It seems there are discrepancies among trucks. I couldn't find which wire it was as I was wiring mine so I tried all 4. . ,of course with my luck the right one was the last one I tried.

It would be preferable to use a 'test light' available at any autoparts store to check for the proper wire. Tapping a wire un-necessarily invites future problems. Corrosion at the point the insualation was broken, and possible broken wire strands. They are popular items to use because they are quick and easy. Hard on wiring though.

Testing for a 'good ground' can be done the same way. Clip the alligator clip to a known hot point and use the test light to probe for good ground sources.

The color of wire may have changed, but it's still in the same position on the light switch. There are 6 wires, 4 on the top row, 2 on the bottom row if you hold the panel where both rows have the first wire for each lined up, its the second wire on the bottom.

Each year seems to be a different color.

John - thanks for the info. That's one thing I don't have in my arsenal of tools. Imagine that!

Fred - thanks for your info. I'm attempting this one on my own. I have a stellar example of how it works on my 2001... wonder who did that one up so purty?

If you're looking for the dimmer wire on the 04's, its one of the two that are orange with a grey tracer. Unfortunately, there are two alike and only one of them is it. You have to use a test light, which is what I did to find the right one. Good luck with it.

PHX ATC, did you get a light with your gauges? I'm just gonna install mine and throw one in there later. Did you get the SRT A pillar cover? That is a great set up.
