Gauge Wiring Questions

I have a set of the new isspro gauges(boost & egt) and a cubbyhole mount on the way from Geno's. Where is the best place to wire in for the dimmer circuit? I'd rather not take alot of the dash apart if I can help it. Does the EGT require a switched 12+ to operate? If so where is the best place to find a good source? Does anybody know of a nice way to cover the hole in the mount that I am not going to use right now? I read somewhere how many turns it took BY HAND to know when the EGT probe was threaded enough. Does anybody know how many it is? Sorry for so many questions, I am trying to be prepared when they arrive. Thanks for the help.

Orange wire behind the headlight switch

Easiest place. Or if you want you can get un dimmered dash light power behind the heater control panel. That wire is orange also. PS a good place to get the hot only when the key is on is from the cigarette lighter in the heater panel.
