Glade you have Autometer cause I do to. The red and black coming from the probe mount right on the back of the Gage. There should be two post that will anchor them. Next, you should have two long (maybe 3 feet)leads, black and red. This is the switched 12V supply for the gage itself. It requires a 12Source to operate. Then you will have two more wires coming out of the back on the gage, They are very short and black and white, these two are for the lighting, so you can view the gage at night with ease. The black leads in both sets of wires are the (-) negative wires. They can be run to any ground, Thu I prefer to take them back to the battery. The red wire is the (+) positive wire to be connected to a switched source. And the last remaining wire the white one is also a (+) wire, it gets connected to a 12V source that is only on when the lights are on. Now, if the please, you can put the red and white together, on a switched source, but the lights will remain on when the truck is running, it's your call.
